Brasserie David sits at the end of the Pontweg in Aalsmeer, right on the Ringvaart. It's a historic spot, and the terrace is the move when the weather cooperates. The whole place is run by David Sargis, who basically grew up in the kitchen here, learning from his dad before going to culinary school in Amsterdam. He took over as owner in 2020, so it's very much a family story that came full circle. The food is international with a French backbone. Think French onion soup, croque-monsieur, and tournedos, but also saté, gamba's, and a solid burger. Lunch kicks off at noon, dinner starts at 17:00, and the kitchen stays open until 21:00. They've got a kids menu too, so it's not just a date spot. It's open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30 to 21:30. Same-day reservations are phone-only, which is a bit old school, but honestly, it works. If you want a meal with actual history behind it and a view of the water, this is it.
