Museumcafé is that spot in Gouda you walk past and immediately want to know more about. Tucked into a monumental building near the Catherina Gasthuis, it’s part cafe, part event space, and fully about celebrating stuff. Think long lunches, high tea with friends, or just a coffee that turns into a whole afternoon because the vibe won’t let you leave. The space itself does a lot of the work. There’s a terrace in the garden for when the sun’s out, and a cellar vault inside that feels properly atmospheric when it’s colder. It’s not trying to be flashy. It’s just a good place to be, whether you’re there for a casual bite or something more planned out. They do high tea daily, plus lunch with sandwiches, soups, salads, and warm bread rolls.
