Mosselfeest is basically the Vlasmarkt in Middelburg turning into one big street party for three days straight. End of July, the whole square gets taken over by local spots like Café Bommel, Het Hof van Zeeland, and Pizza Amore, each setting up their own tent or terrace outside. The whole point? Everyone serves their own take on Zeeuwse mosselen, so you can just wander from stall to stall and eat your way through the street. It's not just about the food though. There's live music and street artists scattered around, so the vibe stays pretty lively from start to finish. The participants are all regulars from the area, which keeps things feeling local and unpretentious. No VIP sections or anything, just a bunch of people hanging out in the middle of the city. Getting there is easy enough. The Vlasmarkt is right next to the Stadhuis, and both the train and bus station are within walking distance.
