Burgerweeshuis is Deventer's poppodium and nightclub, and it's been doing its thing for 40 years now. The vibe is open and inclusive, built around that feeling of freedom and connection you only really get at a live show. It's not trying to be exclusive or fancy, it's just a place where people come for the music. The main concert hall has a low ceiling and good acoustics, which makes everything feel way more intimate than your average venue. You're basically right there with the artist. They also program stuff in a few other spots around town, like a former hidden church called Het Penninckshuis and a garden with outdoor stages that gives off mini festival energy during the summer. Besides concerts and club nights, there's a café that opens on show nights, and they host everything from Science Cafés to hiphop nights.
