Sarphatistraat 23, Amsterdam, Netherlands
Bar Lempicka is a bar restaurant on Sarphatistraat named after Tamara de Lempicka, the Polish art-deco painter who was basically the star of the Interbellum. Inside there's a floor-to-ceiling glass mosaic art piece inspired by her work, so the vibe is already set before you even look at the menu. You can roll through for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or just park yourself at the bar for drinks. The food is all over the place in a good way: shakshuka, gyros, croquettes from patisserie Holtkamp, truffle fries, burgers, even a tiramisu with espresso and Marsala. There's also a borrelkaart with bitterballen and snacks if you're just there for the drinks. Groups of 10+ can book ahead. It's open from 09:00 to 01:00 during the week and until 03:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, so it works for a long lunch, a casual dinner, or a late one. The whole thing is named after an art-deco icon and it actually commits to that aesthetic, which is more than most places can say.
