History
AIESEC is in 1948 ontstaan na de tweede wereld oorlog. Destijds waren er 7 studenten van 7 verschillende landen die wilde voorkomen dat er nog ooit zo een oorlog zou uitbreken. Vanuit dat perspectief is AIESEC gebouwd, daarom faciliteren wij ”cross-cultural exchange” door studenten naar het buitenland te sturen op een project bij een andere AIESEC locatie waar je in een bedrijf zult worden geplaatst. Wij streven dan ook om studenten niet enkel naar het buitenland te sturen, maar om leiderschap in ze te ontwikkelen en ze te motiveren om meer begrip voor andere culturen te krijgen en samen te werken aan een betere wereld. AIESEC Rotterdam is een van de 7 oprichters en supporter van de sustainable development goals van de VN.
Activities
Binnen de vereniging hebben een aantal teams, Marketing, uitgaande vrijwilligers, uitgaande trainees, inkomende trainees. Ook werken we in taskforces waarin je naast je functie nog meer kunt doen, er is veel ruimte voor eigen invulling en inspiratie. Ook zijn er nationale en internationale conferenties waar je aan kunt deelnemen.
Mission & vision
De missie en visie van AIESEC is al sinds 1948 het zelfde ”We strive to achieve peace and fulfillment of humankind’s potential, by placing our confidence in youth as the key to unlock a better future. We believe that leadership is the fundamental solution.” Dit komt voor uit de status van de wereld na de tweede wereld oorlog.
