Zomerspektakel aan het Meer is basically Alphen's annual summer thing, and it's been going since 2011. It started small, like 1,200 people in the rain small, and now it pulls around 70,000 visitors across the weekend. The whole thing happens at De Bijlen by the Zegerplas, so you're getting festival vibes on actual grass, right by the water. The setup is pretty straightforward: a main stage, a voorterrein with its own acts and DJ stage, and a bunch of food stands that actually cover the bases. Think kibbeling and sushi from Fizzi, pulled pork burgers from Grill'nSmoke, Turkish pizza at Bar Bistro Eight, plus the usual patat, churros, and poffertjes. You pay with coins (€4 each) once you're inside, and they've switched to reusable cups, so no single-use plastic everywhere.
