Bakkie040 is a coffee bar with two spots in Eindhoven, one on Strijp-S and one on the TU/e campus. Same menu at both, same vibe, just different crowds. The Strijp-S location sits near the Ontdekfabriek, the TU/e one is basically the go-to for students and staff who need a break from campus life. The thing that makes this place different: they train people who were formerly homeless to become baristas. No charity angle, no pity, just people getting a real chance and building something with it. You get good coffee, they get a stable foundation. That's the whole deal. Menu's straightforward: coffee (also to-go), tea, pastries, tosti's, croissants, worstenbroodjes. There's also the Bakkie Robbie, an iced cappuccino where part of the proceeds goes to Robbie Hageman's treatment for a brain tumor. You can add an extra euro to your order for that too. Two locations, same mission, decent coffee. If you're in Eindhoven and want your caffeine fix to actually mean something, this is where you go.
