Area is a publishing house and exhibition space rolled into one, started by Alin Avila. It's not your typical gallery. The place is built around the idea of making art accessible, whether that's through the editions they put out or the works they hang on the walls. You'll find contemporary art and ethnographic pieces here, plus they publish Area Revue, their own magazine. So it's part bookshop, part gallery, part creative hub. The vibe is more "come hang out and look at stuff" than "walk around in silence and feel intimidated." It's in the 10th arrondissement, right near Métro Poissonnières. Open Wednesday to Saturday, 2pm to 7pm, or by appointment if you need a specific time. If you're into art books, limited editions, or just want to see something that isn't the same five museums everyone hits, this is worth your afternoon.
