Together with Kaboom Animation Festival we bring the best anime to the big screen!The Boy and the Beast is a successful coming-of-age story by anime giant Mamoru Hosoda that follows nine-year-old runaway Ren and gruff beast Kumatetsu fighting, arguing, and slowly discovering the true meanings of strength, anger, and loneliness. After which, Ren will have to choose between romance in modern-day Tokyo and a beast kingdom rather resembling feudal Japan.Melkweg often hosts different types of programmes at the same time, such as concerts, club nights and films. Please note that there may occasionally be some noise pollution from other programmes during the screening.
