    ## Geschiedenis
    Sinds 1985 biedt de aan het Willem Pompe Instituut verbonden studievereniging Ad Informandum haar leden een breed scala aan activiteiten op het gebied van Strafrecht en Criminologie aan. De combinatie van deze disciplines is geen toevalligheid, maar vindt haar oorsprong in het in 1934 door Hoogleraar mr. Willem Pompe opgerichte Criminologische Instituut. In samenwerking met criminoloog G. Th. Kempe en forensisch psychiater P.A.H. Baan ontstond een nieuwe stroming binnen het strafrecht, die later bekend zou komen te staan als de Utrechtse School. Deze multidisciplinaire benadering beoogde een bredere visie op de persoon van de dader te ontwikkelen waarbij het, zoals dhr. C. Kelk mooi verwoordde, ging om de onderlinge ‘ontmoeting’ tussen strafwetenschappers en strafrechttoepassers met de delinquent om zo de mens van de delinquent in al zijn aspecten binnen het strafrecht tot zijn gelding te laten komen.
