The Dachstock is basically the cultural event arm of the Reitschule in Bern, run by a collective of people who actually care about what gets put on stage. No corporate overlords, no profit-driven booking strategy. Just a group that's been organizing stuff since 1987, operating on a 50/50 split between concerts and parties. The space itself is an old attic with wooden beams that give it a pretty unique sound. You're not getting a sterile, modern club experience here. The music range is all over the place: rock, reggaeton, punk, Afrobeats, experimental stuff, techno, jazz, drum'n'bass, hip hop, rap. They're not chasing the mainstream. In fact, they specifically book shows that other venues wouldn't touch because they don't pull huge crowds. The collective is organized bottom-up, with members spanning three generations passing knowledge down.
