Restaurant Oeverzicht is exactly what it sounds like: a spot by the water in Amsterdam, and honestly, the location does a lot of the heavy lifting. It’s at Oostoever 1, right on the Sloterplas, in an iconic building with a big terrace that looks out over the water. There’s also a balcony terrace upstairs, so you can pick your view. The food is Mediterranean, think mezze, homemade hummus, seafood, and veggies and meat grilled over charcoal. Everything is halal, which is good to know. They do lunch, dinner, and cocktails, including alcohol-free ones if that’s your thing. The vibe inside is decent, but the terraces are the real draw. It’s not trying to be a hidden gem or anything, it’s just a solid place to eat and drink with a good view. If you’re in the area and want Mediterranean food without the fuss, this works. Closed on Mondays, kitchen closes at 11 PM, and no pets because of the open kitchen. Simple.
