Leip

Leip is basically the intro week for every student in Leeuwarden, from mbo to PhD. If you just moved here or you're still figuring out where the good spots are, this is how you get familiar with the city and meet people who'll actually stick around. The program runs from August 24 to 27 and covers the essentials: going out, sports, music, food, and drinks. There's a Leisure day, a market, sport and game days, and a sing-a-long, so it's not just one vibe. It's a full week of figuring out what Leeuwarden has to offer, from the cafés to the cultural scene. Your school will send you the schedule, so you don't have to stress about planning. Then on September 10, there's the Leip Festival to wrap it all up. Tickets are separate for that one, so keep an eye on their socials if you want in. Honestly, if you're a student in Leeuwarden, this is the week. It's less about formal introductions and more about getting thrown into the city with everyone else who's in the same boat.
