Jazzhaus Heidelberg is exactly what it sounds like: a jazz club in a centuries-old vaulted cellar at the foot of Heidelberg Castle. The space used to be a brewery back in the 17th century, which honestly explains a lot about the vibe. It's split into three rooms: bar area, front room, and the concert room. Small, intimate, and a little bit old-school in the best way. The club has been around since April 2000, growing out of an earlier jazz club from 1993. Today they host around 150 concerts a year, mostly modern jazz, but also soul, blues, R&B, rock, and Kleinkunst. So there's a decent chance you'll find something that hits, even if you're not a jazz purist. One thing to know: they don't have regular opening hours.
