Hooikade 13, Delft, Netherlands
Huszar is a café-brasserie run by Marieke and Pascal, a couple who are genuinely into people and the stories they bring. Their whole thing is that good food and a couple of drinks get conversations going, and honestly, that vibe is baked into the place. It opened in 2012 and took its name from Vilmos Huszár, the stained glass artist who worked with Mondriaan and Van Doesburg in the De Stijl movement. There's a nice little family twist too: Huszár means "hussar," or soldier on horseback, and the owner's grandfather actually served as one. His giant old photo is now part of the glass wall between the café and the harbor master's office, so he's basically still keeping an eye on things. You can come for a meal, a beer, or just a chat. It's open every day from 11:00 to midnight, right by the water. Nothing flashy, just a solid spot where the food, drinks, and conversation all do their thing.
