EXIL

EXIL has been Göttingen's home for alternative music for over 20 years. It's a live music club where the rock scene actually lives, whether you're there for a concert or just to hit the dancefloor. The vibe is straightforward: no pretension, just good music and people who care about it. You can catch everything from 80s and 90s nights to punk, blues, and Depeche Mode parties. There's also a kitchen format called Blues'n'Boogie if you need food with your music. Tuesday nights are a thing too, with cheap entry and free admission for students before midnight. Friday and Saturday run until 5am, so it's a proper night out. The place is run by a non-profit association, which explains why it feels less like a commercial club and more like a scene hub. There's a cloakroom, a smoking room, and free parking across the street after 8pm.
