Dionys is not a venue in the classic sense. It’s the working world of Marijn, an artist and designer based in Ghent. He does illustration, design, and furniture, both on commission and as free work. The space is his atelier in the Klein Begijnhof, which already tells you the vibe: old, quiet, a little tucked away, but very much alive. You won’t find events or a bar here. What you will find is a look at how things get made. Furniture, prints, illustrations, and the kind of work that sits somewhere between art and design. The free work on the site is for sale, and any illustrations that weren’t commissioned are available as prints. If you want sizes or prices, you just email him. Worth a visit if you’re into the process behind the finished piece. Not a place to hang out, but a place to see what one person can build when they’re left to their own direction.
