Clapton Country Club is that weirdly cozy spot in London that’s giving full-on countryside pub but, like, in the middle of the city. Think wood panels, mismatched chairs, and a vibe that’s equal parts your nan’s living room and a place you’d actually want to hang out in. They do drinks, obv, beer, cocktails, the usual, but the real move is the Sunday roast. No cap, it’s the kind of thing you’d post about if you weren’t too busy shoveling it into your face. There’s also live music sometimes, board games if you’re feeling wholesome, and just enough space to pretend you’re not in Clapton anymore. It’s not trying to be anything fancy, which is the whole point. If you’re over the whole "pretentious London bar" thing, this is where you end up. Lowkey perfect for when you want to feel like you’re in a village pub but still need to get the Overground home.
