Königswinter
Bungertshof is this old-school wine spot in Königswinter, right at the base of the Mittelrhein vineyards. Think: a place where the wine list is basically a novel, 50+ Mosel producers, vintages going back to the '90s, and more sweet wines than dry ones. It’s the kind of menu that makes you feel like you should’ve studied before showing up, but in a good way. The vibe is lowkey fancy without trying too hard. You go for the wine (obviously), but they’ve got solid food too, nothing overcomplicated, just stuff that pairs well with whatever bottle you’re stressing over. The space itself is cozy, like your rich uncle’s wine cellar if it had better lighting. They won some award for their wine concept in 2025, which, ngl, tracks. The owner, Andreas Lelke, is basically a wine encyclopedia with legs. If you’re into Riesling or just want to pretend you know what you’re doing, this is the spot. No pressure to be a sommelier, but you’ll leave feeling like one.
