Altstadt

Altstadt is a café on Stratumseind that also happens to be a proper music spot. It’s not trying to be one thing: some nights it’s just a cozy place to hang, other nights there’s a live band on stage, sometimes for free. The lineup swings from indie and rock to psych and electropop, with both local newcomers and bigger names like HAEVN or The Slow Show passing through. If it’s good, they’ll book it. The vibe is pretty straightforward: open daily from 4 PM, later on Fridays and Saturdays. You can grab a drink, catch a show, or just see where the night goes. They also run small things like a World Cup pool and join the Pride Walk, so it feels less like a venue and more like a spot with its own little community. Worth a visit if you want music without the stiff concert hall energy. Just check the agenda and show up.
