History

POLIS is opgericht op 3 mei 1991 en is over de afgelopen 29 jaar uitgegroeid tot een vereniging met wel meer dan 500 leden.

Activities

De activiteiten die POLIS organiseert zijn zeer breed georiënteerd. Allereerst zijn er de studiegerelateerde activiteiten zoals excursies naar bedrijven, een studiereis, een congres, workshops en recruitment activiteiten. Daarnaast zijn er ontspannende activiteiten. Regelmatig organiseert de Activiteitencommissie feesten in onze stamkroeg: Café de Boekanier. Daarnaast zijn er de jaarlijks terugkerende evenementen als een kroegentocht, de familiedag en natuurlijk het introductiekamp! Het introductiekamp is de uitgelezen mogelijkheid om als eerstejaars (premaster) student nieuwe vrienden te maken, flink te feesten en een indruk te krijgen van wat Studievereniging POLIS nu precies voor je kan betekenen voor de rest van je carrière aan de Universiteit van Tilburg.

Mission & vision

Missie: “De vereniging heeft ten doel: 1. Het bevorderen van kennis- en informatie-uitwisseling tussen studenten onderling, tussen studenten en wetenschappelijk personeel en tussen studenten en personen die actief en kundig zijn op het gebied van Organisatiewetenschappen; de vereniging tracht dit doel te bereiken door het organiseren van activiteiten op studie- en ontspannings gebied met als uitgangspunt de kennis van de leden ten aanzien van Organisatiewetenschappen te verruimen. 2. Een bijdrage te leveren aan de promotie van de studierichting Organisatiewetenschappen aan de universiteit van Tilburg’’ (Artikel 4, pagina 1). Visie 2019-2020: “Study Association POLIS is a platform, which focuses on the personal development of Organization Studies students through the enrichment of their study, professional and social capabilities, positively influenced by the versatility of the association. Furthermore, the association focuses on the integration between different levels within the organization. The association aims to achieve this by facilitating interaction between Organization Studies students, between Organization Studies students and alumni of Organization Studies, between Organization Studies students and the business sector, and between Organization Studies students and Tilburg University. In addition, the association aims to achieve organizational development by means of advancing the professionalization of the organization.
