YUSU is a coffee shop in Amsterdam run by two locals, Kick and Nicole, who basically lived in the coffee world before opening their own spot. The name comes from the Surinamese word for serious, and yeah, they take the coffee part seriously. Beans are roasted in collaboration with Back to Black Coffee, so you're getting something with actual thought behind it, not just a random espresso shot. The space itself is a family affair. Kick and Nicole designed the interior themselves, and the art on the walls rotates every few months to spotlight local Amsterdam artists. It's the kind of place where you can grab a coffee, sit for a while, and notice something new each time. They also use the space for collabs with brands like New Balance and Ace & Tate, plus ceramics and clothing drops, so there's usually something creative happening.
