Summer of Love is what happens when people who actually lived through the early rave scene decide to keep throwing parties. This is the Amsterdam-based crew behind The Beginning of House, an organization that's been celebrating house music for over three decades. Not in a nostalgic, museum way. In a "let's relive the old vibe" way. The events are built around house, techno, acid, and rave classics from the 89/05 era. Think warehouse raves in Groningen, beach events in Bloemendaal, and festival days at Thuishaven in Amsterdam. The whole thing started in 1992 when Alexander Koning and Michel Becks met in a record store and started throwing parties in grimy docks and clubs around Amsterdam. Now it's grown into one of the more respected names in the Dutch scene, with events like Winter of Love and The Rave Game Festival pulling in crowds for full days of oldschool sounds.
