Basel

Sudhaus

The Sudhaus started as a brewery back in 1889, then switched to being a culture spot in 1993. It's in the Wettsteinquartier in Kleinbasel, and it's still one of the go-to places for people who are into culture. Concerts, disco, drag, readings, pingpong: pick your vibe. The team isn't brewing beer anymore, but the building never let go of its past. Grey circles on the mosaic floor mark where the copper brewing kettles used to stand. The old Warteck brewery logo is now the dance floor. Yellow-gold panels on the walls, and an old brewing saying still hangs there like it never left. Everyone shows up here, all ages, all scenes. It's just one of the nicest spots in Basel's cultural lineup.
