subverted is a queer record label and event series in Berlin that doesn't really care about fitting in. The name says it all: they're here to undermine the established system, specifically the techno industry's habit of playing it safe with the same sounds and the same faces. The music leans dark. Think drone, noise, hypnotic and industrial techno. But the real point isn't just the sound, it's who's making it. Their parties and releases feature almost exclusively non-binary, trans, gay, lesbian, and bisexual artists, plus women regardless of orientation. The goal is simple: platform people who usually don't get booked, and prove that inclusive line-ups don't mean weaker music. If anything, it's the opposite. They also run workshops, mentoring programs, and a Queer Sound Camp, so it's not just about parties.
