Pullermanns has been doing its thing in the Mathiasstraße since 1972, which basically makes it a Köln institution at this point. It’s a gay cruising bar, plain and simple, where the whole point is living out your fetishes and celebrating your sexuality without apology. The vibe is pretty open: leather guys next to suit guys, bears and skater boys all at the same bar. Age doesn’t matter, outfit doesn’t matter, whether you’re fully in rubber or fully not, it’s all welcome. The one rule is mutual respect and tolerance, which honestly sounds like the bare minimum but you’d be surprised. You can grab a drink, chat up the bartender, meet new people or run into old friends. If you’re feeling bold, you can do both at once. They’re open daily from 9pm, with late hours on weekends, and there are themed nights throughout the week if that’s your thing.
