Kingkongkicks

Dortmund, Germany

King Kong Kicks is a club night that tours around Germany, and Dortmund is one of the stops. The next one is Friday 16/10 at JunkYard, doors at 23:59, 18+. There's a gorilla on stage. That's not a bit, that's just part of the setup. The sound is the whole point: Wir sind Helden to Ikkimel, The Killers to sombr, the anthems you grew up with plus whatever your feed won't let go of, back to back until the lights come on. They call it "deine Playlist im Eskalationsmodus." Their own tracks and remixes are in the mix too, so it's not just a Spotify queue with a DJ nodding at it. If you've seen them at a festival (MS Dockville, Highfield, Southside, Deichbrand, and a few more), you know the energy. If not, the Dortmund date is right there. Tickets go through Eventbrite, and new dates tend to drop on their Instagram and TikTok first.
