Cavete

The Cavete is run by the Jazzinitiative Marburg, and it's basically where jazz lives in this city. The club is the heart of it: concerts on Tuesdays, an open stage, a different club night, a jazz workshop, and even an open stage reading night. So yeah, you can just show up and listen, or actually get on stage yourself if you're feeling brave. It's a club in the proper sense. Not a fancy bar with jazz playing in the background, but a place built by people who care about the music. Some nights you're there for the concert, some nights you're there because someone dragged you along and now you're a regular. Check the calendar before you go, since the program changes and not every night is the same thing. That's kind of the point.
