The story of Bar A Bar runs in parallel to the changing face of Stoke Newington. In the late 2000s the space was a semi-legal club playing host to low-key parties by promoters such as Disco Bloodbath. In 2009, the space became a legitimate venue with early guests including Theo Parrish. Though often dominated by local DJs and promoters, you can occasionally catch a cult favourite DJ playing to the club's intimate dance floor.
