Agroecology studies the application of ecological processes to agricultural production systems. It provides information, methods of analysis, evaluation and improvement to promote development of secure and sustainable food systems. Methods from natural and social sciences are integrated to deal with the complex challenges of meeting human food needs in a resource-efficient manner that is economically sound, environmentally benign and socially acceptable. \nThe double degree Agroecology is a European master's especially for students with a strong interest in sustainable agriculture and agroecosystem management. This programme is connected to the master Resilient Farming and Food Systems and gives the possibility to understand structure and function of complex agroecosystems. When you choose the double degree programme Agroecology you will complete your first year in Wageningen. The second year is taught at ISARA in Lyon, France. The MSc Thesis is co-supervised by WUR and ISARA. This enables to take full advantage of the strengths of Wageningen University & Research and ISARA-Lyon.
