Ukiyo Koffie is a micro-roastery and slow coffee bar in Utrecht that’s been around since 2019. The name comes from the Japanese concept of the "floating world," and honestly, that’s the whole vibe. It’s a place to step out of your day and just exist for a bit, no rush. The founder, Jonathan, came from an architecture background, and you can feel that in how precise everything is. He roasts rare specialty beans in small batches on a Roest L100 Plus, so the coffee is limited and feels kind of special. They focus on pour-overs, which people describe as meditative, and also do high-end loose-leaf tea served gongfu cha style. Slow coffee, slow tea, that’s the deal. There are two locations: one at the Rietveld Schröderhuis and one at the Bloemenmarkt.
