Schaubude is Kiel's subculture spot, and it's been holding that title since 2002. Since October 2024, you'll find them in the backyard at Bergstraße 17. It's a bit hidden, but that's kind of the point. The program is all over the place in the best way. Think karaoke and kicker tournaments on Thursday nights, then concerts, parties, and raves on the weekend. The music ranges from indie, pop, metal, and punk to drum and bass and techno. So whatever you're into, there's probably a night for it. What actually sets this place apart is how seriously they take care of people. They run an awareness team whenever possible, and the whole staff is trained to help if something feels off. You'll spot the team in purple vests. They're there so you can actually enjoy your night, no questions asked unless you want to talk.
