Die Alte Münze am Hofgraben ist seit 1986 Sitz des Bayerischen Landesamtes für Denkmalpflege. Der imposante Bau wurde 1563-67 von Herzog Albrecht V. als Hofmarstall- und Kunstkammergebäude errichtet. Bis zur Auflösung des Königreichs Bayern wurden hier Goldmünzen geprägt. Nach schweren Schäden im 2. Weltkrieg beherbergt das Gebäude noch heute einen einzigartigen Renaissance-Innenhof.
