    ## Geschiedenis
    Op 11 februari 1915 werd de ‘Leidsche Zoölogen Club’ opgericht door dr. H.C. Delsman als voorzitter, W.H. van Seters als Abactis en mej. B. Immink als penningmeester. Op dit moment telde De Leidsche Zoölogen Club verder zeven leden. De eerste vergadering werd gehouden op 24 februari 1915, hier werd de contributie bepaald op ƒ 0,50 per jaar en ƒ 1,- entree voor een vergadering. De eerste excursie van de Leidsche Zoölogen Club werd gehouden op 5 mei 1915 naar de Keukenhof, Lisse. Na het succes hiervan zouden er nog vele excursies volgen.

    In november 1923 besloten de leden van de Leidsche Zoölogen Club dat de vereniging zich niet alleen moest toespitsen op de zoölogie, maar op de biologie in het algemeen. Dit had de oprichting van de Leidsche Biologen Club tot gevolg. Op 1 mei 1936 werd het blad ‘Het Kameleon’ opgericht om de activiteiten van de vereniging samen te vatten. Op 1 maart 1940 kende de Leidsche Biologen Club 90 leden met 5 ereleden.
