Rum Baba is an independent roastery based in Amsterdam, and their whole thing is letting you actually taste what coffee can be. Sustainably sourced, thoughtfully roasted, and packaged like they actually care about the design. No corporate coffee energy here. They've got a few spots around the city. The brewbar and shop on Elandsgracht is where you can try their full lineup of beans, both as espresso and filter, with some baked goods on the side. There's also a bakery and shop in the East for grabbing fresh beans or gear for your home setup. The roastery itself is the mothership, but visits are by appointment only. Their coffee lineup is pretty specific. Light roasts with tasting notes like palm sugar, orange, and marmalade. Medium roasts with cane sugar, cacao, and red apple. They even have a nitro cold brew made from their Liquid Diamond blend, which sounds exactly like something you want on a warm day in the city.
