Luuk's Coffee is a specialty coffee spot in Amsterdam that started in 2021, and honestly, it exists because the founder got tired of coffee bars being either too pretentious or too soulless. The whole idea is to sit right in the middle: coffee that actually tastes good, served without the weird gatekeeping. They've got two cafés, one at Noordermarkt and one at Vijzelgracht, and both are fast-paced, busy, and very much real-life spaces. Regulars, tourists who stumbled in by accident, everyone ends up there. What makes them different is that they roast their own coffee, but they're not a "roaster" in the classic sense. They started with the cafés first, and everything they sell online has to work behind the bar before it goes into a bag. If it doesn't hold up in a busy café, it doesn't make it to the webshop.
