SAAM is a South African inspired restaurant on the Amstelzijde strip in Amstelveen, right on the Amstel River. The whole place is about merging Dutch and South African food, with the kitchen led by Jasper Hermans. Think honest ingredients, approachable hospitality, and a menu that starts with bites and an aperitif before moving into their five-course Spyskaart or à la carte options. Sommeliers are on hand if you want a wine pairing, and they've got non-alcoholic stuff too. The space seats 42 on the ground floor, plus a Chef's Table for up to 10. Upstairs there's the SAAM bar, which doubles as a private dining room for groups up to 20. You can host a business thing, a birthday, whatever. The U-shaped bar looks out over the river, so you're never disconnected from your guests. When the weather cooperates, the terrace is right there with a view, and you can even arrive by boat and moor at their jetty.
