PaulusSaal is a historic event space in the middle of Freiburg, tucked into a courtyard off Dreisamstraße. It’s not trying to be slick or modern. It’s got that old-building charm, and it works for everything from concerts and kabarett to exhibitions, readings, and even party conferences. Up to 1,000 people fit in, with 880 seats in rows for bigger shows, or they can swap the floor around with tables and chairs for conferences. Smaller setups with chairs in a half-circle around a mini stage are also a thing, and the 390 m² floor works well for exhibitions. There’s also the Pauluskirche in the same building, which you can rent for events with around 300 seats. Location-wise, it’s central but a bit hidden. Tram lines 2 and 3 get you within a 3, 5 minute walk, and the main station is about 1 km away if you feel like walking through the city center. Don’t plan on driving here though. Parking is basically reserved for staff and organizers, so you’re better off with public transport or a bike…
