L’Endroit is not a bar, a club, or a venue in the usual sense. It’s a graphic design studio run by Jean-Marc Dumont, a guy who calls himself a “graphiste en carton, artiste en plastique.” The space is basically his playground: one side is the actual work, the logos, the editorial design, the serious commissions for the CNRS or the Ministry of Culture. The other side is the art, the sculptures, the paintings, the drawings that come from a place way less corporate. You won’t find events or a menu here. What you get is a look inside a brain that’s been making visual identities since the 90s, with over 150 logos to his name. Some of them are still holding up, like the Trust logo from 1997 that he’s pretty proud of. Others are more personal, like the sculptures made from beer cans or the totem that sat in the back of the studio for years before he figured out what to do with it.
