Kaschemme is a concert venue, nightclub, bar and Spelunke in Basel. That's their own word for it, and honestly it fits. It's a club living room kind of place, and the program swings hard from drum n bass to emo nights to ska, so you never really know what you're walking into until you're in it. Regulars know Thursdays for the Uptown DJ Lab, 18:00 to 22:00, free entry, bar running. It's a low-key spot to practice, learn and connect with other DJs, whether you've never touched a deck or you've been at it for years. Then there's the rest of the calendar. OFFSET brings the drum n bass, SACHSENTRANCE brings trance with a clear political stance and a thing for safe, accessible spaces, WEIL SONNTAG does the soft Sunday thing with downtempo, dubby techno and house.
