Every Wednesday night, Heldenbar turns the Provitreff in Zürich into the city's longest running regular queer event. Free entry, non-profit, and open to everyone: queer, trans, gay, lesbian, bi, hetero. You show up, you're a hero, that's the whole deal. The vibe is straightforward. You get a bar team that actually knows what they're doing, a coat check and kiosk, and a dancefloor that does the job. First Wednesday of every month there's a drag show, and the rest of the time DJs like Meraki or Nick Harvey bring the techno and house. No pretension, just people dancing. It's not a polished club experience and it doesn't try to be. It's a weekly ritual for the people who keep showing up, and that's exactly why it works.
