APRA is exactly what it sounds like: the Amsterdam Psychedelic Research Association. It's an academic group for students and researchers based in Amsterdam, focused on psychedelics like LSD and psilocybin, but strictly for their therapeutic and scientific value. No chill vibes about illegal use here, they're pretty clear about that. The whole thing started in 2018 because, despite all the evidence these substances have research potential, the stigma and legal status have held the field back. Plus, Amsterdam institutions like UvA and VU weren't really doing much with it, which felt like a gap, especially with all the tech and neuroimaging the city has. What they actually do is pretty straightforward: lectures, journal clubs, and symposia to keep people in the loop on academic developments.
